Mimi's note: If you've seen this before, I'm sure you'll enjoy another view. If you haven't seen this video - you are in for a treat! I saw on the news tonight that the offending pooch had to appear in court with his PAWrents and was ordered to complete a full course of obedience lessons while he is on 'probation'. This was the first time the canine criminal had attempted to eat a patrol car!
I smile and giggle each time I view this little clip. Gotta say, the Chattanooga, TN police had a lot of patience and great humor during the incident.
A Chattanooga police officers vehicle got more than it bargained for when it came in contact with Winston the dog. See Winston eat the cop car's front bumper, before taking a bite out of several tires.
That is so funny!!! Such a voracious appetite for - well, hmmmnnnn, metal??? What a riot - you find the most entertaining movies fur us sometimes! Thanks for the giggles this morning! (and then he attacked the tires, you say?) Hugs xoxoxoxo Sammie
Ever since we first read about Winston, we've wondered what the experts call this. There's a name for poop eating dogs, which we can't remember at the moment. But what do you call a bumper/tire eating dog?
That is funny!!! I've never seen a dog eat a car bumper but to see one eat a cop's car bumper is too funny!!! Hiliarious!!! It must have had something good smelling on the car!!! Love, Debbie and Holly
Gee, and we just confine ourselves to pencils and pens and paper and books -- we'll have to sniff out the next police car that we see on our walks! Sure!!!
Glad the pawrents were part of the punishment. Wish they'd do that with some kids' misbehavior!
That happened only a few miles from us and the good news is they let the doggies go home to their family! STill, I wouldn't want to risk our Honda around them...
Before I go, I just want to remind all you pups and kitties to always have plenty of love for your humans even if they might be grumpy. Sometimes they get caught up in all sorts of things and take us for granted. That doesn't mean they don't love and need us. Also you humans, remember why you have us around. If you are feeling stressed out, pet us. It's been proven to lower your blood pressure. Also keep lots of treats handy. And for everyone, enjoy life. Always take time for walks, frisbee and CAR RIDES.
And one last thing for you humans. If you are considering adding another dog to your home, think about giving one of older dogs a chance. We don't chew up your shoes, pee inside (well, not unless we really can't help it) or need lots of training. Plus you will have a very loyal friend for the rest of our lives. ~Domi, the therapy dog, 1996-2009

Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the master's table." - Matt 15:27
I have a firm belief that each and every dog has been placed on earth as a gift from Heaven. Sadly, not all dogs have the opportunity to be as treasured as they deserve. The breadth of what dogs can do, and have done, for mankind is astounding - breathtaking. We owe them great debt and we owe God our resounding - THANK YOU! M.Sullivan
The House Dog's Grave
by Robinson Jeffers (1887-1962)
I've changed my ways a little; I cannot now
Run with you in the evenings along the shore,
Except in a kind of dream; and you,
If you dream a moment,
You see me there.
So leave awhile the paw-marks on the front door
Where I used to scratch to go out or in,
And you'd soon open; leave on the kitchen floor
The marks of my drinking-pan.
I cannot lie by your fire as I used to do
On the warm stone,
Nor at the foot of your bed; no,
All the nights through I lie alone.
But your kind thought has laid me less than six feet
Outside your window where firelight so often plays,
And where you sit to read‚
And I fear often grieving for me‚
Every night your lamplight lies on my place.
You, man and woman, live so long, it is hard
To think of you ever dying.
A little dog would get tired, living so long.
I hope that when you are lying
Under the ground like me your lives will appear
As good and joyful as mine.
No, dears, that's too much hope:
You are not so well cared for as I have been.
And never have known the passionate undivided
Fidelities that I knew.
Your minds are perhaps too active, too many-sided...
But to me you were true.
You were never masters, but friends. I was your friend.
I loved you well, and was loved. Deep love endures
To the end and far past the end. If this is my end,
I am not lonely. I am not afraid. I am still yours.
