Jon Gosselin Ditching Dogs; Kate Won't Take Care of Them

I imagine that the article speaks for itself. I had read about the abuse of his dogs a while back. All I have to say is that I certainly hope the breeder finds better homes for these two animals. My heart is so totally aching right now. And, yes folks, these are the same "adults" who are raising eight children.

Watch as he loads them up to give them away. He doesn't show any concern for animals that have given him all their love. He's a poor excuse for responsibility, if you ask me.

Jon Gosselin says estranged wife Kate is in the dog house — because she won't take care of his German Shephard puppies, Shoka and Nala. So he is returning them to the breeders. "It's not fair to the dogs to not be wanted in their own home," Jon says. See a photo of Jon playing with his dogs

The dogs belonged to Jon, and he was in charge of feeding, brushing and caring for them. He didn't explain why he won't just bring the dogs with him to New York City – where he rents a  two-bedroom bachelor pad — when it is not his turn to stay at the family's $1.1 million home in Wernersville, Pa.

Earlier in the summer, the Humane Society of Berks County, Pa., received about a dozen complaints from animal activists around the country after Gosselin said his eight kids "beat" the dogs, "climb on them, pull their tails, bite at them, drag them around."

He later denied animal cruelty claims, stating: "We understand the responsibilities of being good dog owners."

They might cramp his style. I don't understand how you could give up a dog.

What terrible people, those poor puppies and children.

I don't think my breeder would of even sold me or Maisie to people who had 8 small children, and a camera crew in the house, and a mom who seems very stressed.

Eh, what makes them think they can handle two dogs when they can't even keep their family from falling apart? Those poor dogs.. Hope they'll find a nice new home with people who love them and will care for them..

We stopped watching when they gotted the puppies coz we knowed it was going to be a disaster and could not bear to watch. Especially when the puppies was running amok in the house and Miss Priss Kate had a screaming hissy fit when they peed on the carpet. Wot did she think puppies running amok on carpet was going to do? We is akshually surprised the dogs stayed around as long as they did.

It's probably better for the dogs that they are moving on. I hope that they can stay together.

So many people don't understand what a dog needs to have a good life. But, I have to admit, that I sometimes admire the ones who are willing to admit that they are not providing a good home and do the noble thing. Of course, it would be more noble to take better care of their dogs - but if they're not willing, then finding them a better home is a step in the right direction.

God that family totally disgusts me. Those kids are going to grow up totally messed up. Those puppies are lucky to get out of there. Hopefully they will find a wonderful home that doesn't involve all those crazy people.

Have to wonder how the breeder allows someone to get 2 puppies when they have 8 kids, with 6 of them being very very young????

Poor puppies! I'm sure they'll find new homes where they get the attention they deserve. I always wondered how they got all the belly rubs they need with as much as those people travel.

Yet another reason they're both, IMHO, losers.

It's upsetting but it's better off that the dogs are with someone else who can really give them the love and attention they need.
When a family with small children decided to "get" a dog because their children begged for one, I often times feel so bad the dog. Who knows if they are really a dog loving family or if they just get the dog because the kids want them.

Hi Scout&Freya
thank you for visiting my blog. And for the record: Jekyll IS hovawart, blond male. Hovawarts come in 3 colours: Black and ten, blond and black as you can see on right side of my blog.Maybe blond hovis looks a lot like golden retrivers, but they are bigger and have stronger constitution;-)All combination are alowed, except somewhere blond-blond, becouse from that combination comes out only blond puppies and that is not too recomendable...
My mommy was very upset about your article. How any breeder can be so unresponsible to give 2 puppies to a family with so many little children??? I would bite that breeder in his sorry....sigh!

Have a great weekend,

At the very least they're going back to their breeder. And I have to ask... since when is it a good idea to get TWO puppies at ONCE while raising EIGHT kids??? It's not exactly like they're on a farm and need animals to work. That's just my beastly opinion.

Good thing for those pups. They don't deserve to bring happiness to such idiotic people. They'll have no problem finding forever homes and bringing happiness and being loved by loving people.

Those people are absolute turds! I don't believe they've ever bonded with those pups...they're all so self centered....and incredibly stupid!
The pups are beauties, and hopefully will find a real home...they never had one with them!

Hmmm... I'm not too worried about those doggies. With all this publicity, people will be knocking down the door to adopt them.

Kate and Jon should be strung up by their toenails.

We hope those beautiful doggies find a new home where they will be loved and appreciated. The Gosselins don't deserve them.
