This video has the power to move the soul of anyone who has ever cupped a furry head in their hands, looked into loving eyes and had to say good-bye - not because a life was lived long and well - but because of a menacing disease - the word we all hate cancer. After you've watched the trailer, please visit the web site, too. This walk began last year and continues on. This man and his two dogs have made many stops along their way to educate others about their venture and to emphasize the need for cancer research to find a cure - a cure for our beloved dogs who give us unconditional love until they breathe their last breath. If anyone should try to tell you that human beings need more help, remember, most cures for humans began with our best friends on four feet.
To learn more about this wonderful trio, just click on the photo. It will take you to their web site and links that give a volume of information and their media coverage about this remarkable journey. If you have ever loved an animal, there is no way you will not be moved. They also have a facebook page and you can follow them on twitter as they tweet quite often!
What an inspiring trio!!! We sure have felt the impact of cancer in our lives, both human and canine, so our tails are wagging in full support of their mission. Thanks for sharing this story.
Thank you for telling us about this. We have added him to the blogs we follow and will add him to our prayers also. Our family lost a beloved pet to cancer. It's a terrible thing for anyone to go through.

Hi, Thanks for leaving the comment I lost the love of my life dog Jake Sept 25th 2008 to Hemangiosarcoma. HE was just past his 13th birthday - I miss him every day and agreeing to euthanse him and saying goodbye that day was absolutely the hardest thing that I have ever done.
Before I go, I just want to remind all you pups and kitties to always have plenty of love for your humans even if they might be grumpy. Sometimes they get caught up in all sorts of things and take us for granted. That doesn't mean they don't love and need us. Also you humans, remember why you have us around. If you are feeling stressed out, pet us. It's been proven to lower your blood pressure. Also keep lots of treats handy. And for everyone, enjoy life. Always take time for walks, frisbee and CAR RIDES.
And one last thing for you humans. If you are considering adding another dog to your home, think about giving one of older dogs a chance. We don't chew up your shoes, pee inside (well, not unless we really can't help it) or need lots of training. Plus you will have a very loyal friend for the rest of our lives. ~Domi, the therapy dog, 1996-2009

Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the master's table." - Matt 15:27
I have a firm belief that each and every dog has been placed on earth as a gift from Heaven. Sadly, not all dogs have the opportunity to be as treasured as they deserve. The breadth of what dogs can do, and have done, for mankind is astounding - breathtaking. We owe them great debt and we owe God our resounding - THANK YOU! M.Sullivan
The House Dog's Grave
by Robinson Jeffers (1887-1962)
I've changed my ways a little; I cannot now
Run with you in the evenings along the shore,
Except in a kind of dream; and you,
If you dream a moment,
You see me there.
So leave awhile the paw-marks on the front door
Where I used to scratch to go out or in,
And you'd soon open; leave on the kitchen floor
The marks of my drinking-pan.
I cannot lie by your fire as I used to do
On the warm stone,
Nor at the foot of your bed; no,
All the nights through I lie alone.
But your kind thought has laid me less than six feet
Outside your window where firelight so often plays,
And where you sit to read‚
And I fear often grieving for me‚
Every night your lamplight lies on my place.
You, man and woman, live so long, it is hard
To think of you ever dying.
A little dog would get tired, living so long.
I hope that when you are lying
Under the ground like me your lives will appear
As good and joyful as mine.
No, dears, that's too much hope:
You are not so well cared for as I have been.
And never have known the passionate undivided
Fidelities that I knew.
Your minds are perhaps too active, too many-sided...
But to me you were true.
You were never masters, but friends. I was your friend.
I loved you well, and was loved. Deep love endures
To the end and far past the end. If this is my end,
I am not lonely. I am not afraid. I am still yours.
